Counseling

Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Counseling for Adults
Life can present challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. Counseling provides a supportive space to explore these experiences, develop greater self-understanding, and discover new paths toward healing and growth.
Whether you are navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or other personal concerns, therapy offers an opportunity to be heard, supported, and accompanied through the process.
A Collaborative Approach to Healing
Elizabeth Brodhead, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and EMDR therapist who works with adults seeking support for trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, and other life challenges.
Her approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing occurs within safe, supportive relationships. Drawing from EMDR therapy, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and the values of social work, Elizabeth works collaboratively with clients to help them access their own strengths, resilience, and capacity for change.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, therapy is individualized according to each person’s history, goals, experiences, and needs.
Areas of Focus
Elizabeth commonly works with adults navigating:
- Trauma and complex trauma
- Grief and loss
- Anxiety and stress
- Depression
- Life transitions
- Relationship challenges
- Caregiver stress
- Chronic illness and health-related concerns
- Personal growth and self-discovery
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process distressing experiences, reduce the impact of traumatic memories, and develop healthier beliefs about themselves and their lives.
EMDR may be helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, difficult life experiences, and other concerns that continue to affect the present.
Elizabeth integrates EMDR with mindfulness-based and somatic approaches when appropriate.

Mindfulness & Somatic Awareness
Healing involves more than thoughts alone.
Elizabeth’s work is informed by mindfulness practices, somatic awareness, restorative yoga and body-centered approaches that help clients develop a greater connection to themselves, their experiences, and the present moment.
Her training includes Integral Yoga and additional study in somatic approaches to trauma healing, including work influenced by David Emerson and trauma-sensitive mindfulness practices.
