Elizabeth is a licensed clinical social worker, certified clinical trauma professional, and registered yoga teacher. She earned her certification as an Integral Yoga (https://integralyoga.org) teacher in 2003. The mindfulness practices and philosophical orientation that she learned through that training have informed her personal and professional life ever since. More recently, over the past 5 years, she had the privilege to be involved with the work of Hospice Savannah (https://www.hospicesavannah.org). She provided support, resources, and counseling to many folks who were patients, family members, and friends impacted by the need for hospice care. She especially enjoyed supporting those grieving the death of a loved one through her work as a bereavement counselor for the past 3 years at Full Circle Grief and Loss Center, a division of Hospice Savannah. Prior to moving to Savannah in 2010, she worked in community mental health in Seattle, Washington with adults coping with severe and persistent mental illness.
Elizabeth holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialty in Clinical Practice. The values, beliefs, and theoretical orientations that form the foundation of social work education also form the foundation of her therapeutic practice (i.e., core values: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence; ecosystemic approach/perspective; diversity, equity, and inclusion; person-centered therapy from a multicultural perspective).
She offers treatment modalities tailored specifically to meet clients’ needs, including: EMDR and a variety of mindfulness and somatic practices. While her specialty is grief and loss, she has also had the opportunity to support individuals with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. She will listen closely to clients’ concerns, and work collaboratively to design a treatment plan to meet clients’ goals.
